Letter to My Lost Friend
65Can You Reach My Friend?
Hope
For many years, I have lamented how often (and easily) so many people have departed from faith in Christ. The cares of the world often choke out the deep spiritual lives of leaders, friends and even marriage partners over time.
Success and media offer "the good life" as a lure toward something achievable and attainable that few in actuality ever get to enjoy. It is sad when you see someone strong in the faith abandon the very things that make them special in God's design. That was the inspiration for this poem.
The Wave
I lost a friend today
It appears he fell into the sea of humanity
A world that applauds self-centeredness
That discounts others pain
Regarding it as of no consequence
As if God didn't care for them as much
As him.
Lost him
To irrational thinking that inflates
Egos and bank accounts
Possessions and falsehood
Rather than kingdom concern
I am not needed
Can't conform to unspiritual patterns
I get off the bus far too often
To explore ethereal adventure
Maybe it had to happen eventually
The chasm growing deeper
Through neglect
And endless hours of waiting, watching, hoping
For change to come
Repentance to visit
Humility to triumph
It did not.
Free will run riot
Eternal price
Sad discovery
Hopefully he will find his way
As I find the will to go on
With The Master of my destiny
The Lover of my soul
The One who made the sacrifice
So we all could be whole
If we understand
And believe
And accept.
Like I will have to
Walk me forward Lord
I trust.

Faith is a word that has many meanings to different people. When you have faith in your soul, moving forward isn't a scary action to take, because you know that the Lord will guide you and be by your side. You must make the decisions and your faith will help you through the results.
God Bless you.
Love
Michael
A lovely poem. Holding onto faith gets us through so many difficult times. God is always more faithful to us than we are to Him. :-)
A very moving poem with lovely technique. Gods bless.
Hmmm... This is so evocative...But I believe if God has given us the free will we need to exercise the same too and let go, while holding them up in our prayers. Thanks for sharing this! Voting it up!

Think the point in life is that all you can truly save is yourself. People always have the choice. God gave us the free will. The only person we should really be worried about getting there is ourselves. It sound selfish, but only through your example and actions can you truly win other people's hearts. Not through anything you say, only but what you do in your own life. So of course many times you have to walk away, and do it on a daily basis when I meet people. I don't need to get to know them for very long to recognize they might be going in the opposite directions as me. Although it is hard at times to detach, and know your own truth, you just have to do it. Leave them in God's hands and let them go on with their Journey.
